Privacy policy
This website is run by a small family kennel in Switzerland. We collect only what we need to answer your enquiry or to consider your puppy application, and we do not sell or share your data for marketing. This policy follows the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP).

What we collect, and why
Enquiry form
Name, email address and your message. We use them solely to reply to you.
Puppy application form
The details you enter in the application: name, age, contact details, address, household and pets, your experience with dogs, your everyday and living situation, your wishes regarding the puppy, and how you heard about us. We use them solely to assess whether one of our puppies is a good fit for your home, to get in touch with you and, if it comes to that, to prepare the placement. Answering the questions is voluntary; without the required fields we cannot consider an application.
Server logs
Like every website, ours is delivered by a hosting provider whose servers record technical access data (IP address, time, requested page, browser type) for security and troubleshooting. These logs are kept for a short period and are not combined with your form entries.
No cookies, no tracking
This website sets no cookies and uses no analytics or advertising tools. Fonts are served from our own hosting, so viewing the site does not send your data to third parties.
Who processes data on our behalf
The website and its forms are hosted by Netlify, Inc., San Francisco, USA. Form submissions are received by Netlify, stored in our account there and forwarded to us by email. Netlify processes this data on our behalf under its data processing terms, which include the safeguards required for transfers outside Switzerland. Netlify's privacy policy is available at netlify.com/privacy.
If you contact us via Instagram, TikTok, WhatsApp or by phone, the privacy policies of those services apply to that communication.
How long we keep your data
- Enquiries: until your question is answered, and no longer than 12 months.
- Puppy applications: for the duration of the current adoption process. Applications that do not lead to a placement are deleted no later than 24 months after receipt, unless you ask us to keep you in mind for a later litter.
- Where a puppy is placed, the details needed for the sales contract and the animal's records are kept for as long as Swiss law requires.
Your rights
You may at any time ask us which of your data we hold, have it corrected or deleted, or withdraw your consent for the future. Simply write to info@swissdachshunds.ch. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC).
Changes
We may update this policy when the website or the law changes. The current version is always published here.
